How Do You View the Future?
Will our world…
- stay the same?
- get worse?
- get better?
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS
2 Peter 3:10… But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
WHAT THAT CAN MEAN FOR YOU
Heart ache because you are made from the dust of this sin cursed earth. — Genesis 2:7… And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Hell, because this earth is full of sin. — Romans 5:12… 12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Hope because there is a way to have sin forgiven. — 1 John 1:9… 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
CAN WE REALLY BELIEVE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS?
Yes, for at least two reasons:
God has the ability to fulfill the promise.
Numbers 23:19… 19God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
God has the desire to fulfill the promise.
Titus 1:2… 2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began:
How will God change our world for the better?
The Bible answers that question in 2 Peter 3:10 and Revelation 21:1.
- 2 Peter 3:10… But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
- Revelation 21:1… And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Do you know where you are going after you die?
You can know. You can call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by praying something like: “God, I agree with you that I am a sinner. I know you don’t like my sin and it keeps me from having a good relationship with you. I am asking you to forgive me. I am accepting the Lord Jesus’ payment for me. Amen!”
